At Catford And Bromley United Synagogue we think it is vital to have strong relations with the local community, and other faiths. We work with the following organisations to ensure that there is understanding and cohesion between us.
Three Faiths Forum
The Three Faiths Forum works to build good relations between people of different faiths, beliefs and cultures. At Catford And Bromley United Synagogue we are very pleased to be able to work with them to put an end of prejudice, racism and intolerance.
Key members of our synagogue regularly meet with 3FF and other local faith groups to learn from them and to offer our insights.
SACRE Lewisham
Catford And Bromley United Synagogue work with SACRE (a division of Lewisham Council) to advise them on religious education and collective worship in the borough’s schools.
The Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education (SACRE) meets four or five times a year at various places of worship. At these meetings the members are able to enhance their knowledge of other faiths, while offering advise based on current religious, cultural and political affairs.
The Council Of Christians And Jews
The CCJ is the leading nationwide forum for Christian - Jewish engagement. Working with the South-East London of CCJ, we work to promote education, dialogue and social action in local Christian and Jewish communities, with an aim to providing opportunities for constructive change.
