A Special Occasion

Our synagogue has recently celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of the opening of our current purpose built synagogue building. As if this was not enough, we were able to celebrate the return of two Sifrei Torah scrolls to the synagogue after repair. This is treated with the same importance as they were when originally presented to the synagogue.

Representatives were present from the United Synagogue, members of other faiths and Sir Steve Bullock, the Mayor of Lewisham. The congregation was also made up of both current and past members of the community who came together to enjoy a short service that was led by our minister, Rev. Cantor David Rome and The London Cantorial Singers.

It was quite an occasion.
