It is rare that we have a full Synagogue but on this afternoon we had a hall filled with over 200 people including many VIPs. Amongst them was the Bishop of Woolwich Michael Ipgrave (Chairman of Council of Christians and Jews), Ministers of many other religions, MPs, Councillors and High Ranking Military Officers. Also importantly, there were several people who had never been to a Synagogue before.
Credit must go to our Ladies Society who made an excellent lunch that was very much appreciated by all, my thanks to them for all of their hard work.
The walk visited many other faith buildings in the borough where a candle of Peace was lit and also the Civic Centre where we were addressed by the Mayor. By the time we finished at Lewisham Police Station we had around 400 walkers. Wow!
